TOI ET MOI LOVESEAT

ATELIER ELLERY

A space designed for individuals to meet, sit, and connect yet no two connections are identical. This Loveseat encapsulates the essence of love; one side exerts more power, while the other is destined to remain gentler, subtler, and more innocent. This chair embodies the delicate balance between form and emotion. It serves as a rendezvous point for connection, encouraging presence and affection, while also establishing boundaries that restrict intimacy with its central dividing wall. This physical and metaphorical barrier renders some loves unrequited. Nevertheless, for those whose love connection is electric, they can surpass this barrier. Once seated upon its metallic surface, lovers, guided by the flow of the chair's architectural form, discover the potential for a conductive connection guided by the curved wall itself. One can serve as a conduit for the transmission of love's ineffable energy and connection through the conductivity of the piece itself. Within these confines lies the potential for profound connection.

Kym Ellery is a Paris-based creative director and artist whose work moves fluidly between furniture, sculpture, and spatial design. Known for her distinctive use of metal, resin, and mirrored surfaces, she creates objects and environments that explore material contrast, balance, and form. Her practice sits at the intersection of architecture and sculpture; where curved geometries replace corners, and reflective materials interact with light and space. Whether through furniture, lighting, or pure sculptural works, Ellery builds forms that define boundaries, hold presence, and invite reflection. There is a quiet tension in her pieces: between strength and softness, solidity and suspension. As the creative lead of Maison Rocher, she oversaw the project’s development from concept to execution, shaping its artistic direction and curatorial vision. Her design language is rooted in precision and guided by a spatial awareness that considers how objects live in a room; not only in terms of function, but of rhythm, posture, and atmosphere. Through both independent works and collaborative projects, she continues to evolve a sculptural vocabulary grounded in clarity, craftsmanship, and an intimate understanding of space.
